The waterfall is located on the Skógá River and drops a stunning 60 meters (196 feet) over a sheer cliff, creating a mesmerizing cascade that often produces rainbows in its mist. It is easily accessible and a popular stop for tourists traveling along the Ring Road. The surrounding area is also known for hiking trails, including the path leading up to the Fimmvörðuháls pass. Visitors can get up close to the waterfall, offering unique photographic opportunities and a chance to feel the raw power of the falling water.

Skógafoss

Skógafoss is one of Iceland's largest and most famous waterfalls, located on the Skógá River in the south of Iceland. The waterfall is 25 meters wide and drops 60 meters with a thunderous crash into a pool below. Due to the amount of spray the waterfall consistently produces, a single or double rainbow is normally visible on sunny days. Skógafoss is not only known for its breathtaking natural beauty but also for its historical significance, as it is close to the Skógar Museum, which displays many antiquities, including an open-air museum with traditional turf houses.
