Skógafoss

Skógafoss is one of Iceland's largest and most famous waterfalls, located on the Skógá River in the south of Iceland. The waterfall is 25 meters wide and drops 60 meters with a thunderous crash into a pool below. Due to the amount of spray the waterfall consistently produces, a single or double rainbow is normally visible on sunny days. Skógafoss is not only known for its breathtaking natural beauty but also for its historical significance, as it is close to the Skógar Museum, which displays many antiquities, including an open-air museum with traditional turf houses.
