Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai is a city in the mountainous north of Thailand. It was founded in 1296 and was the capital of the Independent Kingdom of Lanna until 1558. The area of the old city preserves remnants of walls and moats from the period when it was a cultural and religious center. It also houses hundreds of elaborate Buddhist temples, including Wat Phra Singh from the 14th century and Wat Chedi Luang from the 15th century, adorned with carved serpents.

This Buddhist temple is located at the top of a mountain and offers stunning views of the city. You can go up the mountain by cable car or by car.
