Medina de Susa

The Medina of Sousse is a Tunisian medina in the historic heart of Sousse. It was inscribed in 1988 on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The city of Sousse is considered to be a typical example of the first cities of the Islamic conquest of the Maghreb. It thus preserves the kasbah (fortification), the Great Mosque, the ribat, and the Bu Ftata Mosque, a military and religious building.
